A youth troupe in the performing arts, born from Yarob Association and Al-Huras Foundation, striving to empower the Arab generation to speak for itself and for the Arab cause.
Reaching a broad Arab impact through a qualitative leap in developing Arab content, and in expressing and spreading it professionally.
Bringing forth a lofty artistic identity grounded in literature in all its forms — an incubator for the efforts of rising generations in building awareness and using skills, for the sake of intellectual renewal and preserving national memory.
The story of the performing arts with a youth group.
Teenage boys and girls at Yarob Association, within the Leaders Preparation Program run with Al-Huras in Al-Nasr Camp, asked to be given effective and distinctive ways to express their causes. At the time, the “Parliament Station” — the program’s leaders’ parliament — was active.
Al-Huras Foundation trained them for 75 hours in the performing arts: effective communication skills, emotional and rational vocal performance techniques, news, reports and documentary, and poetry, prose, storytelling and drama.
They did not settle for a graduation certificate. They gathered their energies into a troupe and launched it with a poetry performance at the summer camp for orphaned girls and boys, at UNRWA’s Amman Training College.
Art troupes, clubs and associations began requesting their poetry, presentation and literary performances. The troupe gave more than 35 partial performances, which helped shape its identity.
Members of the troupe took part in Save the Children’s 50th anniversary celebration, under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma bint Talal.
With an initiative grant from the I DARE foundation, the troupe presented, for the first time, a complete one-hour show in a professional theatrical format, at Al-Shams Theatre in Abdali, before more than 500 people who filled the hall.
“It was a moment full of success and hard-won fatigue, crowning every moment of work with a moment of joy and victory — a victory for the voice of young people, and for the causes they speak for.
